The German hosting company ZAP-Hosting has warned customers about a data breach in which their private data was stolen and then published on the internet. Customers are offered a discount voucher of twenty euros as an apology. Due to the attack, ZAP was forced to shut down part of the infrastructure. According to ZAP, an attacker managed to break into the systems between March 13 and 15 of this year and stole 60 gigabytes of data. It involved email addresses of 747,000 customers, as well as IP addresses, names, purchases, physical address details, phone numbers and chat logs. The data set was however from November last year. The hosting provider is still investigating the data theft.
